Inspiration: Combining photos and ideas from the client's lovely home to create a scene with a family of oribi in the grasslands with the bright orange-red aloes, and beautiful Midmar dam as the backdrop.

Inspiration: In this commission I tried to capture the early morning light that filters through the trees in our local forest and catches the moisture, creating the most magical mist and shafts of light. Whenever I walk in these forests I always think of the famous quote by John Muir, "And into the woods I go, to lose my mind and find my soul".

Inspiration: I so loved designing and creating this scene from the client’s photos of the striking strandveld in the Cape... incorporating the unique fynbos vegetation... and a few bright sunbirds and a woodland kingfisher... all overlooking the beautiful bright blue Indian Ocean. So lucky to live with this incredible view!

Inspiration: This commission of the northern lights (aurora borealis) threw me far out of my comfort zone! I really wanted to try capture the wispy and almost ethereal feel of this spectacular light display... To try do this I melted layers of glass and glazes to create the sky, as well as the reflections in the water. The snow-capped mountains are mosaic.

Inspiration: A typical autumn scene – wild fields of the beautiful flowers in the central Drakensberg. Each and every flower, bud and stem is individually handmade in glass. The background mountain range is Giant’s Castle.

Inspiration: A pair of Malachite Sunbirds feeding on the local and endemic Protea caffra in the northern Drakensberg. The background peaks of the Drakensberg show the peaks of the incredible and dramatic Amphitheatre.
