I love the smaller creatures, which are often overlooked, but are no less beautiful or fascinating. I have a special affection for frogs (and toads) and the hard working little dung beetles! Indeed, I majored in Entomology and for my Bachelor of Science Honours degree I studied the impact of remnant grasslands on butterfly communities. During the university holidays I also spent months illustrating the different insect taxonomic groups for a book (in the Kruger National Park) and doing detailed drawings of fly faces and genitalia for the Natal Museum. So, I’m a big fan of the little critters!
