ANIMAL PORTRAITS

I love animals and I also love doing portraits, so these artworks are a firm favourite for me. I especially love to try and capture the personality of the animal.

I have done a range of portraits, from pets to birds and wild animals (please also see the wildlife gallery), and I’m always up for a new challenge…. So please let me know if you’d like to commission a portrait.

Inspiration: I loved doing this very special memorial commission of Dragon. Dragon had quite a life... rescued from abuse, moved continents, posed for magazine covers and lived life to the absolute fullest... He is desperately missed by his family. For the portrait I wanted to try capture the gentleness and kindness in his eyes, and the big smile in his gorgeous teddy bear face.

Inspiration: I so loved working on this commission of Cody, a very beloved old boy. I’m such a sucker for old dogs... and Cody has such a heartwarming and contagious smile, he even smiles with his eyes!

Inspiration: I so loved doing this commission of a very special girl, Apple, who sadly passed away recently. Apparently Apple was a super sweet, friendly and fun girl, who was also incredibly spoilt! I really wanted to try capture her kind and gentle nature in her soulful eyes.

Inspiration: This is Charlie... he is a super sweet, cuddly and gentle boy.... who adores his creature comforts... and has the longest tail and biggest feet I’ve ever seen on a cat! I decided to include the crochet blanket to provide some extra texture to the portrait.

Inspiration: I did this BIG mosaic for myself (the first one ever!) of my sweet three legged rescue dog. Despite his disability, Joey lives life to the absolute fullest and is a very strong and enthusiastic swimmer. However, it took him some time to learn how to properly balance to shake... but as you can see he has now mastered it!
